Clover Doily "Needle Tatted" #3

Wow! This is a very long process, however it's coming along nicely, if I should say so myself. It seems as if the larger it gets the waiver it becomes, not sure how to handle that. The close I get to the end the happier I get :)  5 rows down, 4 to go....yippie!

Clover Doily (Needle Tatted) #2

This is an update on my Clover Doily by Eileen Stafford. My last post I was on row 3, now I'm on row 4. Hopefully when I post later on tonight I'll be further along at least to row 6 (I hope). I'm very pleased with the outcome so far, it's a little wavy but I think that can be fixed when I stiffen the completed work. Please leave a comment ; )

         Thanks,

Clover Doily (Needle Tatting) #1

Hello all! As you know I've taken up another hobby, Needle Tatting. This ia a doily I'm working on as a gift. This is a very tedious job but it's coming out so pretty. I can't wait to see the finished product. :)  As I get further along I shall post more pictures of my work.

This is a pattern and design by Eileen Stafford. Enjoy!

What the Fox say?

I've posted a card with the Fox on my Facebook before, however it wasn't colored. This image is colored using Stampin'Up "Stampin' Pastels". My wonderful friend M. Guerrant sent them to me some time ago, however I didn't know how to use them. So I watched a video on YouTube to learn how to use the chalks and ta-da! Here is my Fox! This is my first attempt at using them but I'm pleased with it. Just a little more practice and I think I'll have it down.

Enjoy!

Mixed Media "Lau'Ren"

So since I posted the pictures of my Prima "Julie Nutting" mixed media dolls, I stated that I would work on a piece tonight and post it. Presenting "Lau'Ren"!

Posted are the four different stages, of course lots more went into it (grin), but  I only wanted 4 photos to show start to finish. Tomorrow, well later on today since its already tomorrow lol, I'll cite all the products used on this project. Please, if you like this post, leave a comment on my blog and Facebook :) If you're a mixed media guru and see where I need improving or just other ideas to help the piece stand out, please feel free to let me know.

Prima "Julie Nutting" Dolls

Today while at Scraps Buttons n Bows show on Ustream, we started talking about the New Prima Julie Nutting Dolls that are coming out this year. Thanks to Zandra (her show is Scraps To Beauty with Zandra on Ustream on Weds. Nights) for bringing me a new doll back from CHA. So since I've not used mine in some time I thought I'd pull them out and take a pic and show the ones that I have. Julie's original dolls aren't named so I named my dolls. he he

Tonight I'm going to work on a mixed media piece (with the doll I named "Lau'Ren") and hopefully it'll be ready to show you tomorrow. I purchased the bulk of my doll stamps from fotobella.com and a couple on scrapbook.com. I do believe that scrapadabadoo.com will be carrying stamps soon so keep an eye out for them on their site. I've done three pieces using these stamps, they were my first attempt at mixed media, their on my very first post of 2013. You can go to YouTube.com and see tons more videos of mixed media with the julie nutting prima doll stamps. All of my dolls are named after my family according to the dolls personalites lol.

I Love You!

Just finished this lovely card. The sentiment says everything. The heart is needle tatted by me in Handy Hands Lizbeth #20 Seagreen Drk. I've only been tatting for a short time but I think the heart came out quite nice. The pattern for the heart was in the Handy Hands catalogue pg 41. The heart pattern was adapted by Barbara Foster (2009) from a design by Mrs. J. M. Blackman originally appearing in the "Modern Prisicilla Magazine" in 1917.
Other materials used are cardstock by: Papertrey Ink (pure poppy, pine feather, berry melon and white) pattern paper: Fancy Pants Designs (Hopscotch 4x6 paper pad) ink: (Papertrey Ink, pure poppy) and (Momento, tuxedo black) embroidery thread for the bow: DMC embroidery.

More New Cards

More new cards, not a whole lot to say about them but I enjoyed making them. Enjoy!

New cards

These three cards were colored using the American Crafts Alcohol  Blending Markers. I've never used then before until this week. If thou would like to try coloring for the first time I think these are a good market to start with. You can purchase them in a case of 30 and purchase the others that don't come with the set separately. Or you can go to www.americancrafts.com and purchase them in sets of three for each color set. They are numbered 1-3: light, medium, dark. I really like these markers you don't have a great range of color however took can mix and match colors to build your color combos. Try them out and tell me what you think. Leave a comment.

Letterpress

I purchased a letterpress plate from Stampin'Up and never used it until tonight. I had never used one before so I thought it was just like an embossing plate lol. But once I figured it out this is the card I made. It's nice and simple (and in my opinion) speaks volumes. Simply stating "love".

New Card

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
It's been a while since I posted on here so I thought a new card would be the way to kick off the New Year. I purchased this stamp and die set (phone die and stamp) from Papertrey Ink last year and decided to use it. The pattern paper is by Ki Designs (Hampton Arts) and it's called "Argyle". The border punch is Stampin'Up punch and I didn't write the name down (sorry). This was a really fun card to make and I'm so happy to share with you guys.
Enjoy!
