Finally, Round 6! Wait.....Ooops

I finally made it to round 6 on Renuleks Summer Napkin. But I noticed yesterday, there's a boo boo with my Napkin. Two to be exact lol. We're just going to call them imperfect-perfect pieces lol.

If you'd look closely, I added a ring where there was suppose to be a chain. Well I decided to make it look the same way on the other side lol. It was a accidental purpose mistake. My mom use to say "as long as there's a matching pair it'll be Ok". So now, the other side look the same with an extra ring.

Now, the extra ring I can fix. But how do you fix this problem? Not sure how I did that, but I somehow cut the knot holding that closed section together. I really like the color of this napkin but if I can't find a way to fix this, i'll have to redo it. This is my favorite thread Lizbeth #124 sz 20. Once this napkin is finished, I plan to drape it across my console table that's dedicated in memory of my mother.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog, from Simplee Lau'Me Cards to Simplee Lau'me: My Adventures in Tatting. Though, I'm still a card maker, I find a new joy in Tatting Lace. For the new visitors of my blog I didn't want them to be confused by the name saying one thing but showing something different. I thank all of you who've been following me and I do promise to do my best to post at least once a week if nothing else. You guys are the best.

Update Coming Soon To My Blog

Hello everyone. I know I've not been active in keeping my blog up todate for some time now but I'm actively working on changing that. Since my hobby has shifted from paper to thread, I feel that my blog should as well. The name will stay the same minus one word. I thank everyone whose been following me. It's a great feeling to know that others are seeing your work and to hear their comments on it. You all have no idea how it makes me feel when I read them. Thanks so much for them.

I'm somewhat of a scatter brain so, I forget to post more often than not, but I'm gong to work at posting more often even if it's just to say that the weather here in Paris, TX is hotter than a double boiler of hot syrup. lol . So I thought I'd get started today. These are doilies that I've finished or are still in progress of being completed. Enjoy!!

This is the Rose Roger's Round Robin Doily. It has 6 rounds (however I missed a round) it looks so delicate and lacy. Can't wait til I get it blocked and flat. I'm tatting this doily in HH Lizbeth sz 20 #657 Ocean Turquoise Dk. I found this pattern on www.georgiaseitz.com

This next doily is the Renulek Summer Napkin 2014. I'm on round 5 and tatting in HH Lizbeth Spring Garden # 124 sz 20. I'm really enjoying working on the Renulek Napkins. For more of her work go to www.renulek.blogspot.com. She has several other doilies and eggs patterns.

Here is another Renulek Napkin. It's the Spring Napkin 2014. This doily is being tatted in sz 20 HH Lizbeth Seagreen Lt. #686; Ecru #603 and Antique Violet Med #640

The Clover Doily by Eileen Stafford. I got the pattern from www.webarchive.org It has 9 rows (I stopped at row 8) I think i should finish the doily. I thought I would like it without the final row but I think it needs it. This doily is tatted in sz 20 thread by HH Lizbeth # 691 Mocha Brown Med.; #693 Linen Med, #684 Leaf Green Med, #690 Mocha Brown Lt., #604 Ecru

Here's a doily that i found the pattern on www.Pinterest.com It's a Russian pattern so I'm not sure of the title but I tatted it in HH Lizbeth sz #20 Leaf Green Medium #684.

This last one is the Amusement Doily by Celtess. It's tatted in sz 20 Lizbeth #694 Harvest Orange; #695 Bright Orange; #601 White. And #603 Ecru and #633 Purple Dk.

I'm really enjoying my new hobby. Don't get me wrong, I will always love paper crafting and card making. But I feel more at ease when I'm tatting. I feel relaxed and calm. Thanks to all of my friends who comment and follow me here and on Facebook. you guys are the best.

I know is not a card but, isn't it pretty!

Hello friends!
This is beginning of a doily I've been working on for two days now.  It's called a Renulek Spring Napkin.  It's called"Renulek" because it's the name of the lady who designed it.  At this time, I'm on Row 3. As I get farther along into the doily I'll post again.  If you've never tried shuttle tatting,  give it a try.  Yes, it's a little complicated at first, but try it out.  There are dozens of videos on YouTube that can help you as well as books and websites that are very informative. There's a group on Facebook called"Tatting" with lots of very experienced tatters to answer questions.  So come and join this fabulous addiction. You can even use the pieces you create on your cards and on your scrapbook pages and mixed media works.  Check out Gerriann's page on Facebook where she demonstrated how you can use a tatted heart on a card.  Come on,  and join the fun!

Beautiful Day

Hello everyone! I just wanted to write a quick post. I'm working on three things at once right now lol. I've not forgotten about my friends who follow me. I so appreciate each of you. It's such a beautiful day in Paris, TX today. The temp today was almost 70 and sunny. We're actually in shorts and capri's lol. Things are finally getting back to normal since the ice storm in December. We still have streets all over our city with limbs still down and sidewalks covered in them but the weather has been since then. Thank everyone for all of the prayers that you sent our way. They were greatly appreciated. Well, my break is over lol back to work. Talk to you soon :-)

Needle Tatting

Hello everyone! I know it's been several days since I posted forgive me.  But I've been trying to concentrate on my.new hobby of Needle Tatting. This is a necklace that I tatted tonight. I used #10 thread by Aunty Lydia and #5 needle by Handy Hands. The pattern is by Totusmel and the tutorial is located on
instructables.com It's very easy to understand however you do need a rudimentary knowledge of needle tatting which she also has a tutorial for on instructables.com I've not forgotten about my card making lol. I'm still making cards just not as much as I was. I've been taking a lot of time on the needle tatting. I have some cards marked that I'm going to make and post as soon as they're finished. I hope you like the necklace!

Enjoy, Le'Quita

Clover Doily "Needle Tatted" #3

Wow! This is a very long process, however it's coming along nicely, if I should say so myself. It seems as if the larger it gets the waiver it becomes, not sure how to handle that. The close I get to the end the happier I get :)  5 rows down, 4 to go....yippie!

Clover Doily (Needle Tatted) #2

This is an update on my Clover Doily by Eileen Stafford. My last post I was on row 3, now I'm on row 4. Hopefully when I post later on tonight I'll be further along at least to row 6 (I hope). I'm very pleased with the outcome so far, it's a little wavy but I think that can be fixed when I stiffen the completed work. Please leave a comment ; )

         Thanks,

Hello all! As you know I've taken up another hobby, Needle Tatting. This ia a doily I'm working on as a gift. This is a very tedious job but it's coming out so pretty. I can't wait to see the finished product. :)  As I get further along I shall post more pictures of my work.

What the Fox say?

I've posted a card with the Fox on my Facebook before, however it wasn't colored. This image is colored using Stampin'Up "Stampin' Pastels". My wonderful friend M. Guerrant sent them to me some time ago, however I didn't know how to use them. So I watched a video on YouTube to learn how to use the chalks and ta-da! Here is my Fox! This is my first attempt at using them but I'm pleased with it. Just a little more practice and I think I'll have it down.

Enjoy!

Mixed Media "Lau'Ren"

So since I posted the pictures of my Prima "Julie Nutting" mixed media dolls, I stated that I would work on a piece tonight and post it. Presenting "Lau'Ren"!

Posted are the four different stages, of course lots more went into it (grin), but  I only wanted 4 photos to show start to finish. Tomorrow, well later on today since its already tomorrow lol, I'll cite all the products used on this project. Please, if you like this post, leave a comment on my blog and Facebook :) If you're a mixed media guru and see where I need improving or just other ideas to help the piece stand out, please feel free to let me know.

Prima "Julie Nutting" Dolls

Today while at Scraps Buttons n Bows show on Ustream, we started talking about the New Prima Julie Nutting Dolls that are coming out this year. Thanks to Zandra (her show is Scraps To Beauty with Zandra on Ustream on Weds. Nights) for bringing me a new doll back from CHA. So since I've not used mine in some time I thought I'd pull them out and take a pic and show the ones that I have. Julie's original dolls aren't named so I named my dolls. he he

Tonight I'm going to work on a mixed media piece (with the doll I named "Lau'Ren") and hopefully it'll be ready to show you tomorrow. I purchased the bulk of my doll stamps from fotobella.com and a couple on scrapbook.com. I do believe that scrapadabadoo.com will be carrying stamps soon so keep an eye out for them on their site. I've done three pieces using these stamps, they were my first attempt at mixed media, their on my very first post of 2013. You can go to YouTube.com and see tons more videos of mixed media with the julie nutting prima doll stamps. All of my dolls are named after my family according to the dolls personalites lol.

I Love You!

Just finished this lovely card. The sentiment says everything. The heart is needle tatted by me in Handy Hands Lizbeth #20 Seagreen Drk. I've only been tatting for a short time but I think the heart came out quite nice. The pattern for the heart was in the Handy Hands catalogue pg 41. The heart pattern was adapted by Barbara Foster (2009) from a design by Mrs. J. M. Blackman originally appearing in the "Modern Prisicilla Magazine" in 1917.
Other materials used are cardstock by: Papertrey Ink (pure poppy, pine feather, berry melon and white) pattern paper: Fancy Pants Designs (Hopscotch 4x6 paper pad) ink: (Papertrey Ink, pure poppy) and (Momento, tuxedo black) embroidery thread for the bow: DMC embroidery.

More New Cards

More new cards, not a whole lot to say about them but I enjoyed making them. Enjoy!

New cards

These three cards were colored using the American Crafts Alcohol  Blending Markers. I've never used then before until this week. If thou would like to try coloring for the first time I think these are a good market to start with. You can purchase them in a case of 30 and purchase the others that don't come with the set separately. Or you can go to www.americancrafts.com and purchase them in sets of three for each color set. They are numbered 1-3: light, medium, dark. I really like these markers you don't have a great range of color however took can mix and match colors to build your color combos. Try them out and tell me what you think. Leave a comment.

Letterpress

I purchased a letterpress plate from Stampin'Up and never used it until tonight. I had never used one before so I thought it was just like an embossing plate lol. But once I figured it out this is the card I made. It's nice and simple (and in my opinion) speaks volumes. Simply stating "love".
